The past few weeks, we’ve been exploring questions that will help you get the valuable lessons from 2020 and more insight into how you’d like to move into 2021 in your professional life.

Would it be appealing to move into the next year with intention? To do so with Purpose, Passion, and Power? Great! Click HERE to get some coaching questions that will help you to do just that! My suggestion is to get a journal and spend some time with these questions over the quiet New Year holiday to uncover your answers.

Here’s what I’d like to ask you today. What is your WORD for 2021? I know this sounds trite or maybe even impossible to narrow down, but here’s why it’s crucial.

When you pick a word to inspire you in the new year, it is a reminder of how you want to live, make choices, how you want to work, or what you want to create. It becomes a benchmark of sorts, and the question you go to is this. Is this choice, job, vision, project – whatever – aligned with the word or not? Is it moving you toward what you want or away?

After going through the coaching questions myself, I looked at my answers and saw the pattern of what had happened in 2020 and also how I wanted to make a shift in 2021.

I saw that, especially at the beginning of last year, I was kind of mindless. I was busy “DOING” and being productive, but not especially in a way that aligned with me. I took no time “BEING.” Some areas of my life were stellar, and others, not so much.

So, I picked the word DELIBERATE. That’s my word for 2021 and will be my guidepost in decision-making. In any area of my life, I will ask if what I am doing, deciding, creating; is it DELIBERATE? I will see if I’ve made an intentional choice or perhaps slipped back into a mindless state and am doing things on automatic pilot.

What patterns have you noticed in 2020, and how do you want your professional life to shift in 2021? What word might inspire you to make choices that create success without sacrifice for YOU?

I’d love to hear what you picked! Leave me a comment below.

Until then, here’s wishing you the Clarity you deserve!
