This will help you to be more effective and efficient in your mentorship role.
- Set clear expectations. When you agree to mentor someone, it’s important to set clear expectations from the beginning. This includes the frequency and duration of your meetings, the goals and objectives of the mentoring relationship, and any other guidelines or ground rules that you feel are important. This will help you avoid misunderstandings and make the most of your time together.
- Be present and attentive. When you do have the opportunity to meet with your mentee, it’s important to be present and attentive. This means putting away your phone, minimizing distractions, and actively listening to what your mentee has to say.
